One way in which we can all be "helpers" (to use a Mr. Roger's term) is to support our local neighborhood restaurants. One of the things my wife and I miss most, in this new normal, is going out to eat a couple times a week. After recently enjoying a wonderful take-out dinner from a local restaurant, we decided that on Wednesday and Saturday evenings we will set the table, open a bottle of wine, and order delivery or curbside take-out from one of our favorite local restaurants. We especially want to remember those who have faithfully supported the Center's Mystical Feast gourmet dinner fundraiser: Bacio, CinCin, El Poquito, Karla's Kitchen, Malelani Cafe, Mica Restaurant, New South Ocean, Night Kitchen Bakery, Sandy Run CC, Scoogi's, Thai Kuu and Zake's Cafe. If these restaurants aren't nearby, then support the local restaurants near you. This way we can fight "cabin fever" AND support our local restaurants and their employees. In times like these, I am reminded of a quote from Mother Teresa: "We can do no great things, only small things with great love."
