Journeying with the Mystics (online)

NEW COURSE

An Exploration of Mysticism & Mystics

Our Spring course begins April 15, 2026 and meets every other Wednesday from 7:00–8:15 p.m. ET. Each session features two brief, seven-minute presentations on selected mystics, each followed by thoughtful discussion.

The purpose of this course is not to make participants experts, but to use the lives and teachings of the mystics as a pathway to deepen one’s own spiritual awareness—awakening a sense of wonder and enchantment in everyday life. It is truly an exploration of mysticism by way of the mystics.

An Exploration of Mysticism by Way of the Mystics!

As we engage this diverse group, we will see a common thread: each wrestled with life’s challenges while cultivating a deep inner trust in the Divine. Featured figures include Isaac the Syrian (7th century) on compassion over sin; Dorothee Soelle (21st century) on mysticism and resistance; Barbara A. Holmes on Black Church mystical spirituality; Beatrice Bruteau on evolution toward divinity; Wallace Turnage and the spiritual dimension of escape and liberation; Joanna Macy on Buddhist interconnectedness; John Cassian on light and meditation; St. Benedict and St. Scholastica on balance between rule and spirit; and Yogananda’s reflections from Autobiography of a Yogi, among others.

What participants have said:

  • “I appreciated the thought-provoking presentations and lively discussion!”

  • “The presentations are insightful and the conversation is engaging.”

  • “I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed joining you and the Mystics this week—and I’m looking forward to more!”

Listening Circle (occasional)

OCCASIONAL MEETINGS FOR MEMBERS

We at the Center want to offer programming to meet your spiritual needs. To that end, we occasionally invite members to participate in an online “listening circle” to let us know how we can best serve you, with questions such as... (1)What is a growing edge in your spiritual life? or (2) What do you most need in order to discover and express the fullness of your spiritual potential? or (3) What do you feel Spirit / your Divine Self is calling you to in these difficult times?

Listening circles are planned occasionally. There is no cost to participate, but slots are limited. If you would like more information or to participate, please contact the CCM Program Committee Chair, Patricia Pearce at ppearce@patriciapearce.com.
