A Conversation with William Richards
What do we know about psychedelics and religious experiences? Could psychedelics have helped shape our consciousness, millennia ago, by ancestors who ate magic mushrooms? What role might psychedelics play in our spiritual development today? Psychologist and world-renowned researcher, William Richards, will address these questions and many more in a dialogue at the Center on Sunday, December 8.
As a co-founder of the psychedelic research trajectory at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1999, Bill has a rich history of research at the University of Goettingen, Maryland Psychiatric Research Center, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and Sunstone Therapies in Rockville, MD, where he serves as Senior Advisor today.
In addition to being a prolific author, who consults and teaches around the world, Bill also has a background in theology and religion with degrees from Yale Divinity School, Andover-Newton Theological School, and a Ph.D. from Catholic University. His latest book is entitled: Sacred Knowledge: Psychedelics and Religious Experiences.
