A Conversation with William Richards
What do we know about psychedelics and religious experiences? Could psychedelics have helped shape our consciousness, millennia ago, by ancestors who ate magic mushrooms? What role might psychedelics play in our spiritual development today?
Psychologist and world-renowned researcher, William Richards, will address these questions and many more in a dialogue at the Center on Sunday, December 8. Bill is head of the Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research at Johns Hopkins University. He also has a background in theology and religion with degrees from Yale Divinity School, Andover-Newton Theological School, and a Ph.D. from Catholic University.
For decades, Bill has been at the forefront of research in the study of the psychedelic experience in treating mental disorders, as well as its history and application around spirituality and mysticism. His latest book is entitled: Sacred Knowledge: Psychedelics and Religious Experiences.
